Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Power of Attorney?
A Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you to choose someone (known as the “agent” or “attorney-in-fact”) to manage your affairs in your home country while you’re residing in Indonesia. From financial matters to healthcare decisions, a POA ensures that your interests are protected, even when you’re far from home.
What is an Apostille?
Apostille is a simplified form of document authentication recognized in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention. It is a simplified way of making a document valid for use in another country.
How long does it take to get my apostille?
The estimated timeline in Bali and the rest of Indonesia is 8–10 business days. Priority Document Assistance is available with an estimated timeline of 4–6 business days, subject to document eligibility and government processing. Timelines do not include weekends or public holidays.
Which documents do I need to apply for an apostille?
You will need to provide us a form of identification such as a passport, KTP, or KITAS.
This is handled during the checkout process.
Can I apostille a PDF copy of my Power of Attorney instead of the original paper document?
It depends on what the receiving party is requesting from you.
If the receiving party is okay with an electronic signature, then you can use that.
Otherwise, as in most cases, you will need to print your Power of Attorney and add your ink signature at the bottom.
Do you offer international delivery?
Yes, we can deliver your document directly to the receiving party in another country.
We normally use DHL, however we will use Pos Indonesia for countries such as Russia and Ukraine since DHL is currently not delivering there.
Can I get an apostille if the Power of Attorney is in a language other than Indonesian or English?
Yes, you can still get an apostille for your Power of Attorney even if it is in another language.
The only time this is not true is if the destination country is Russia, and you wish to legalize the apostille at the Russian Embassy in Jakarta.
In that case, the Russian Embassy requests that the Power of Attorney be in Indonesian.
Do I need to notarize my Power of Attorney?
Yes, you must notarize your Power of Attorney before you can get it apostilled. We can do that for you.
